Here for your consideration is a very fine, impressive and rare, vintage, novelty, miniature, sterling silver, slide action, toothpick or letter opener designed and crafted in the form of a miniature model of a Purdey double barrelled, sporting shotgun, complete with black velvet display/presentation box.

The exquisite workmanship of this novelty toothpick/letter opener is truly superb. The butt/stock of this toothpick/letter opener has been accented with delightful scroll and textured decoration. The barrel/slide action are nice and smooth and the butt tip has a safety loop.

This novelty, toothpick/letter opener is very clearly hallmarked to the side with the maker's mark LJM in an oval cartouche, for Leonard J Millington, stamped 925 for sterling silver, with the Birmingham anchor assay office mark, lion passant, and a date letter 'I' for 2010.

An extremely rare find because these miniature, novelty, Purdey shotgun toothpicks/letter openers were only available to a select few people who purchased a pair of Purdey sporting shotguns. If you want to get noticed and be the envy of all your friends, then trust me, this exquisite, Purdey toothpick/letter opener will have that desired effect.
