Part of the esteemed Minolta G series of glass, the 17-35G/3.5 is a constant aperture zoom with beautiful background blur (bokeh) and classic Minolta colors. It is a screw-drive lens compatible with the Minolta Maxxum (also known as Dynax or Alpha) series of film and digital cameras. It is also compatible with Sony A-mount digital cameras, such as the A65, A77 and A77II, A99 and A99II, among many others.
Note that it is not directly compatible with Sony E or FE cameras such as the A7, A1, or A9 series. You will need an adapter like the LA-EA4 or LA-EA5 in order to use it on a compatible E or FE camera. If you have any questions about this, please ask BEFORE purchasing!
Appearance
Excellent+++
- No dents or dings. Filter threads are in great shape.
- There are some scuffs on the lens barrel. I've circled their location in one of the photos.
- Lens rubber is in great shape, though has whitened from lack of use. This will go away if used more.
Optics
- The glass is nearly perfect, with only tiny dust visible.
- No fungus, scratches, fog, or balsam separation.
- This has the purple coating, which flares slightly less than the earlier green coating on these lenses.
- Optical performance is excellent, focus is accurate and fast but depends on the screw-drive motor in your camera or adapter.
