Fujimi 1/72 Scale Aichi D3A2 Val Type 99 Model 22 Dive Bomber Model Kit 1985

Introduction:

You will be bidding on a 1/72 scale model kit of the Aichi D3A Japanese WW2 dive bomber aircraft. This kit was produced by Fujimi and is an example of a 1985 release. The D3A, also known as the Type 99 in Japanese service and given the Allied reporting name Val, was the primary dive bomber deployed by the Imperial Japanese Navy air arm during the Second World War. It was operated throughout hostilities including during the attack on Pearl Harbour and in the Philippines. It also has the distinction of sinking the most Allied warships of any Axis aircraft design throughout the war. Just shy of 1500 were built and operated by the IJN.

This Model Kit:

This model kit is complete and unstarted. All of the parts are still on the sprues or loose in the original opened bags. Decals are in their own plastic sleeve and in good condition, as are the instructions. The box is in good condition too and just has some typical minor shelf wear here and there.

Kit Features and Details:

This kit is moulded in light grey plastic. Features include finely produced engraved panel lines and surface details throughout all appropriate external areas. Cockpit details include a floor section with a pair of seats, instrument panels, controls and rudder pedals as well a central divider and a mounted rear facing machine gun. Other features include detailed fixed, trousered undercarriage, nice  double banked engine cylinder details, separate dive brakes under the wings and a number of other smaller fittings and details to complete the build. A detailed, centrally mounted bomb with cradle mounting device to clear the prop arc during dive attacks is also provided in addition to smaller under wing bombs. Should build into a great looking model of this widely deployed Japanese WW2 naval attack design.
