First edition, first printing. Published by George Allen and Unwin, London, in 1976.
A collection of letters written and illustrated by J. R. R. Tolkien between 1920 and 1943 for his children, from Father Christmas.

This is a nice copy. The paper covered pictorial boards are bright and clean with some very slight bumping at the corners. Some rubbing around edges of boards and front board has a slight overhang (ie the book is not square along the spine from storage I guess)

The internals are bright and clean for the most part but there is a section where an insect or stain of some kind has gone through a number of pages - I've shown the pages themselves and also the pages on either side. Some light foxing on some pages.

Overall a good copy for age.
