Jean-Jacques Beineix, the acclaimed French auteur behind such cult
classics as Betty Blue and DIVA, pushes the envelope of suspense and
humourinto David Lynch territory for a jet-black journey into the depths
of intrigue and despair. Psychoanalyst Michel (Jean-Hugues Anglade,
Betty Blue) falls asleep on the job listening to the labourious
offerings of his troubled patient Olga (Helene de Fougerolles,
Prospero's Books) and awakens to the grisly sight ofher strangled body.
In the throes of panic he attempts to dispose of the body himself but
only manages to entangle himself further in a complicated tale of deceit
and larceny. When Olga's rich husband enters the scene and Michel's
other neurotic patients vie for attention the stage is set for a most
umcompromising psychological thriller.
