Meiji period copper on pewter ornamental Japanese plate of a Samurai warrior fighting a huge coiled snake or dragon. Around the perimeter are mountains and foliage. The scene on the underside is decorated differently, with seedpods and foliage, as is often the case..see photos. The outer edge shape is assymmetrical, and there's a slight bend downwards on one curve. It weighs a little over 1kg and measures around 8.5 inches at widest by 7 inches at narrowest points.
