For sale is my very beloved U87ai. Only selling as I recently bought a U67 re-issue. I’m a mixing engineer and don’t spend nearly enough time recording and producing atm to justify owning both - so the U87 has unfortunately got to go.

It’s been subject to home studio use only - no damp, no smoke, no pets. Sounds great vocals, acoustic guitars and soft percussion, which is also pretty much extensive list of everything it’s recorded.

Comes with wooden box, Neumann shockmount and original box and documentation.

There is one tiny hairline mark on the front of the casing, which is generally unnoticeable so I have photographed. Otherwise, the mic is in near perfect condition and has always been put back into the locker after use.

I put pics up of the internals too for anyone interested showing head basket seal left untampered and its genuine circuit.

I personally love the Neumann sound, especially how up front things sound when close micing a U87. Takes Eq like a champ and delivers a smooth but present sound.
