PAIR 18TH CENTURY GEORGIAN c1796 ENGLISH PROVINCIAL SOLID SILVER SALT CELLARS / DISHES – NEWCASTLE

On offer are a rare pair of 18th Century George III English provincial solid silver salt cellars / serving dishes with blue glass liners. Still unengraved. One clearly hallmarked Newcastle by John Robertson I (I.R) circa 1796. He was active until his death in 1801 (in partnership with John Langlands I 1778-1795 & David Darling 1795-1796). This mark dates the cellars between 1796 and 1800 were he operated from Dean Street. Other of identical design with the same, but rubbed marks. Weight silver 104 grams. Length 9 cm. One glass liner with chip. Overall condition good.
