1950s Navy Sailors Haiti Bureau du Port Vintage 8mm Home Movie Film

Estate Sale Find

Approx 1:30 of footage, I believe to date to the mid-late 50s based on all items acquired from the estate most of which were dated 1955-1958. This is from a stop in Haiti by some US Navy Sailors and scenes from around the port/ocean side with some views of boats and landscape, along with in-town and interacting with locals.

*PLEASE NOTE: this footage is split across 4 clips as shown, totaling about one minute and 30 seconds. They were on the same reel but separated with unrelated footage so were clipped to combine subject matter together. They're carefully wound back up on a 3" reel, but I have not spliced them back together.

Film played ok for me and does not appear to have any vinegar smell to it, but it is vintage, going on 70+ years old, and inherently is at risk like any old film for issues with condition and integrity.

*Note - film may or may not come on reels, it may be coiled in paper envelope. Varies based on how it was found and length.
