Vintage O Gauge Wind-Up Streamline Mallard-Type Locomotive,
Chad Valley or Mettoy?
 
A nice vintage tinplate O Gauge clockwork Streamline
Mallard-Type Locomotive in blue and black with silver
detail, No. 4489 with fixed key, possibly made by
Chad Valley, Mettoy or similar British maker.
 
The Loco is number “4489” and measures 6.5 inches
 long (inc coupling) by 2 wide and 2.75 inches tall.
 In good working condition with playwear, marks
and some surface rust spots in places, the
clockwork motor works well.

Marked “Made in England” on one side of the
cab, just below the number 4489.
