In his first publication, pencil drawings on paper, not larger than 6 x 9 cm – the Winterthur artist Marcel Gähler shows spectacularly detailed drawings based on his own photographs. Crime scene, place, dawn, twilight – Gähler's drawings confuse, captivate and have a lasting effect. Over the last four years, Marcel Gähler has created small-format drawings, which are now being brought together in book form.

The photorealistic component, which also determines the artist's painting, is reinforced in the form of these miniaturized pencil drawings, with the spectacular subtleties of drawing going beyond the possibilities of the original – that is, black-white photography.
