Up for auction is this attractive Duplex No 2 raiser and extinguisher bayonet fitting burner in bright nickel plate, also known as 'German Silver' . Will pass for silver but does not tarnish .  These were frequently sold in France, no maker's marking ( not marked Hinks) but they are the same design and quality  as hinks's standard burners made until 1893/4 when they changed the way the extinguisher levers worked.

Fully functional, winders work properly, raiser works and drops down cleanly, extinguishers are complete and functional .

Fits Hinks Messengers and most other English duplex bayonet fitting collars .

Has a retaining nut to the bottom of one raiser leg only, as fitting 2 often makes insertion through collar  quite difficult and one alone does the job, which is to stop the top falling off if the burner is turned upside down..

Free from cracks, dents or broken parts. All the chimney grips are present and unbroken. Takes a standard 2&1/2 inch base chimney and has gallery for  4 inch base globe .

Clean but not recently cleaned .Nice patina.

Will be well packed.
