Up for auction is this attractive pair ( NOT MATCHING) of similar raiser and extinguisher bayonet fitting  duplex kerosene oil lamp burners .

Both are fully functional, winders work properly, fitted with decent wicks, raisers ( so you can light them without taking the shade and chimney off ) work and drop down cleanly, extinguishers are complete and functional .

Both have very similar 'zig zag' burner baskets, a pattern used also on 'No 1' Hinks burners. Both burners have black insert winder knobs.

Both are free from major cracks, dents or broken parts.. Both take a standard 2&1/2 inch base chimney and have gallery for  4 inch base globe . Both fit standard Hinks bayonet collars  as well as Messengers and most other English bayonet collars.  They would pass as a pair on a pair of lamps that are not side by side, would suit wall lamps either side of a chimney breast .

 Winder knobs are marked 'Superior Duplex'.  has been fitted with a new cork disc to base , has top half of one chimney grip missing, has 2 small cracks to edge rim of globe gallery (still stable) .  Has had a silver-soldered repair to short crack at bottom of one flame slot, shor crack on other side. Has a retaining nut to the bottom of one raiser leg only, as fitting 2 often makes insertion through collar  quite difficult and one alone does the job, which is to stop the top falling off if the burner is turned upside down..

At Right    

Winder knobs marked 'english make' and 'lifting cone' . Has original cork  to under collar, some bits of cork are dropped out , still functional. Has had a new brass flame slot separator strip silver soldered to cone. Top and lift lever are from a messengers burner !.

Both burners burn properly, good bright flames and no smell and are ready to use, see final pictures.  Please note, other items shown in final pictures are for demonstration and are NOT included in sale.

Clean but not recently cleaned, nice patina.

Ideal to complete a nice pair of earlier lamps .

Will be well packed.
