Beatles-Related 45 1974 Paul
McCartney Junior’s Farm TEST PRESSING, NM!
I can’t test-play
vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Stupid-rare test pressing. The dead wax markings are identical to the
promo copies, making this copy pressed just prior to the promos. 100% genuine.
Vinyl: EX/NM. Side 1 has just two or three incredibly small, light
lines. Otherwise gorgeous vinyl. Side 2 looks unplayed.
Sleeve: EX. Comes with an Apple company sleeve. NO
SPLITS.
Labels: VG/NM. Side 1 label is written on. However; as Apple/Capitol tests
are issued with blank labels, it’s very common to label one or both sides, and
it is agreed upon among collectors that this doesn’t lower the value.
Plates: F1/F3. 99% of Beatles and related tests were
performed by the Los Angeles plant, as was this copy. Machine-stamped asterisk
in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
The
initials, “WLY” appear, which we nearly always see on Winchester pressings. I guess our friend “Wally” did the test.
Side 1 dead wax has the “PRO 6999”
catalogue number, which
of course is not only the number for the promo copies, but it’s also the side
containing the MONO mix. Just like the promo copies, the side 2 dead
wax contains the catalogue number for the commercial stereo mix.
See compere photos of
the promo 45 dead wax numbers.
NOTE: The promo 45 copy is not for sale in this auction!
As these
records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling
and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher
or a VPI machine always clears them up.
Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to
damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar
provided.
Please don’t bid unless you’re
willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please
note: Regarding
play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and
I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.
Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
