NB: There is also a minor amount of damage close to the middle of two inner pages, where the pages have previously stuck together.

FYI: 

The 70mph speed limit was introduced in the UK on December 22, 1965, as a temporary measure. The trial was introduced due to the high number of accidents while drivers were free to go as fast as they liked after the first motorway – the M1 – was opened in 1959. 

The experiment initially lasted four months but the limit was made permanent in 1967.
