FULL SERVICE HISTORY, with all original owners documents, fully stamped service history and all receipts from new including original invoice for £53K in 2003!

Comes with a full tank of petrol worth over £100!  See dash pics.

Great 4X4 ability.  It has got me through deep snow on the hilly roads in the North York moors on more than one occasion.

Fantastic carrying capacity, especially with the rear seats down. We used to use it for cash and carry runs when we ran a guest house in Whitby.  We no longer have the guest house so no need for such a Tonka Toy.

MOT to 7th September 2024. One advisory on last MOT was wear on one tyre.  All 4 tyres have been replaced since then.

For sale in need of repair as it needs some TLC…. Alternatively, just use it as it is.

Becoming collectable I believe?  Less than 200 of these cars are still on UK roads.

If you want to check the MOT history, the car has been on a private plate H10 RNB which I have retained and is not part of the sale.  The new registration is RE 53 ONX.

I have done the transfer at DVLA but do not have the new log book yet. I am hoping that the new log book will arrive before the auction ends.  New number plates for RE 53 ONX have been ordered and will arrive on Wednesday 8th May.

This is a top of the range, luxury spec car which cost £59,650 in 2003 (I have the original invoice).  Apparently, taking inflation into consideration that’s the equivalent of over £100,000 in today’s money!

It’s a real grown-up’s car with doors that close with a reassuring clunk.  It has all kinds of toys and bells and whistles: most of them work, but some don’t.  It even has 3 levels of heated seat for both passenger and driver, so you can cook you bum: rare, medium or well done!

FITTED WITH THE LEGENDARY M62TUB46 V8 ENGINE PRODUCING 345 BHP (I don’t know what’s legendary about this engine… I saw this in a description of a similar car and thought it sounded impressive).

GENUINE LOW MILES: 99,883   LESS THAN 5,000 miles/year!

THE FULL SERVICE HISTORY IS COMPREHENSIVELY DOCUMENTED, WITH STAMPED SERVICE BOOK, A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE, OLD RECEIPTS & MOTs AND OWNER’S MANUAL AND NUMEROUS RECEIPTS.  You can further confirm the mileage by checking the MOT history at the DVLA website.

THIS CAR IS A WELL-BEHAVED BEAST AND IS A REAL PLEASURE TO DRIVE - THE ENGINE SOUNDS FANTASTIC AND PRODUCES A LOVELY V8 SOUND

WHEN YOU KICK DOWN TO OVERTAKE THE ENGINE ROARS LIKE A LION AND THE CAR PERFORMS LIKE A SPORTS SALOON! Official figures are zero to 60mph in 6.3 seconds, which is phenomenal when you consider that the car weighs 2180kg; over two tons!

22mpg on a long run. 18 -19mpg around town.

The car was last serviced on 7th September 2021 at 85,708 miles.  Current mileage is 99,883.  As you can see, I haven't done many miles since the service and there is still one bar left on the service indicator on the dash.

The car drives well and stops and starts but it needs some TLC!  If I dismantled the car and sold it as parts, they would be worth well over £5,000.  It would be a travesty to do that so I’m hoping someone will buy it and give it the TLC that it deserves.

Here are the niggles that I am aware of that need fixing:

·        The adjustable electric mirrors don’t work.  One damaged in a car park.

·         The front discs are due for renewal.  If you drive fast and brake hard there’s a distinct judder from the front wheels: so I don’t drive fast or brake hard.

·         The radio / sound system doesn’t work (replacement amplifier supplied - it was too complicated for me to fit).  The screen for the radio etc is badly pixelated.  The TV has never worked whilst I have owned the car.  The navigation system comes on, but I have never used it and can’t guarantee that it works.

·         The sunroof is sealed with silicone due to a blocked drainage channel.  I wasn’t able to unblock it, so I sealed the sunroof.  Easy to reverse if you wish to.

·         Dash message: tyre sensor inactive.  Has been like this for over 5 years since I bought it. I think this must be a problem with the sensor as the tyres do not lose air. see pics. ( This is a message, NOT a warning light and isn't an MOT fail).

·         Dash message: self-levelling air suspension inactive (see pics).  ( This is a message, NOT a warning light and isn't an MOT fail).  Again, I think it’s a sensor problem as the car sits high on its air suspension and doesn’t go down. I have been driving it like this for over 5 years and the car has passed five MOT’s with the messages showing. The suspension works and if you remove the spare wheel and the carpet from the boot, you can hear the compressor working occasionally as you drive. The suspension has never lost air in the five plus years that I have owned the car.   It may be that you can clear the suspension and tyre messages with a decent fault code reader.  My code reader won’t recognise them, but then again it cost next to nothing!

·         If you check the MOT history, you’ll see that the MOT station has been reporting a slight oil leak for the past few years.  This is one of the the rocker cover gaskets which needs replacing (confirmed by Halfords when I had an ignition coil replaced.  Unfortunately they were too busy to repair it at the time.)  I meant to get it fixed, but never got round to it.

·         The doors all shut and fit as they should, there isn’t any major panel damage that I’m aware of apart a ding in the driver’s door courtesy of a plonker in a car park.  I took the door card off to try knock out the dink.  In all honesty I think I made it worse.

·         The 20” staggered alloy wheels are a mess and would benefit from being re-furbished (rear wheels are monsters and are wider than the front wheels - factory fitted from new).

·         Trim lifting next to window on passenger side.  I tried to fix it with a glue stick without success. See pics.

·         Scrape on corner of bumper.  See pics.

As well as other wear and tear to be expected of a 20 year old car.

From a distance the car looks a million dollars, but looks can be deceptive and as I have said it has a lot of  minor problems that need sorting.  The car is 20 years old so please don’t turn up expecting it to look as if it’s just come out of the showroom.

The car comes with quality BMW floormats and a BMW boot liner.

I AM AN HONEST EBAYER WITH A HIGH POSITIVE FEEDBACK. I HAVE DESCRIBED THE CAR HONESTLY AND EXPECT BUYERS TO ACT IN A DECENT AND HONOURABLE MANNER.

PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION.  PAYMENT IN CASH OR BY BANK TRANSFER ON COLLECTION. I’M RETIRED SO COLLECTION AT MOST TIMES IS OK.

THE CAR IS FOR SALE AS IT IS AND AS DESCRIBED.  IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT PLEASE GET IN TOUCH BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS.  IF YOU WIN, PLEASE DON’T TURN UP WITH THE INTENTION OF KICKING A COUPLE OF TYRES AND OFFERING A LOWER PRICE, AS YOU WILL HAVE A WASTED JOURNEY.

Once bids are placed I will sell to the highest bidder and will let the auction run to the end.  I won’t end the auction early and I’m not interested in a swap for a Robin Reliant, camels, sheep, pigs or goats!

Low starting price and a very realistic Buy It Now price, even bearing in mind the jobs that need sorting. I have seen similar models without the provenance that this car has and with much higher mileages advertised for £5,000 to £7.500.

Thank you for your interest.  Good luck with your bid.

Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need any further information.
