KZS Mesh Suit

Protective mesh suit (KZS) made in the USSR. The set consists of a button-down jacket and trousers. It was originally intended for the troops of the RCBZ (radiation, chemical and bacteriological protection), because it helps to reduce the impact of weapons of mass destruction, camouflage, and increase the level of individual protection (during manufacture, the material is impregnated with a special compound that prevents gorenje suit fabric). Later, this costume was appreciated by special forces and infantrymen in hot spots (it was popular with military personnel performing international duty in Afghanistan), where it was used as a camouflage element. Due to the mesh structure, the color of the fabric becomes more voluminous, which made it the best material for camouflage. The KZS suit has elongated sleeves to protect the hands, if necessary, the sleeve is shortened and fixed with a button. A large hood allows you to cover not only your head, but also your face (allows you to put it on top of a helmet, gas mask, hat or balaclava), a large mesh makes it possible to see through the fabric. If necessary, the hood can be pulled off with an elastic band in the face area, adjusted so that it does not interfere. Thus, a complete disguise of the entire body is achieved. The trousers have slots under the pockets for access to basic clothing. Elastic bands are inserted into the waistband and bottom of the trousers and can be worn without tucking into boots or berets. Also, a large mesh allows the body to breathe in hot climates. However, it should be noted that the KZS suit is not the main element of clothing and it is usually worn on basic clothing, since the mesh fabric does not protect against wind, rain, mosquitoes, ticks, and other pests. In order for the special impregnation not to cause an allergic reaction (when worn on the naked body), the suit should be washed.

The KZS suit is designed to protect the skin and protect the uniform from thermal destruction when exposed to the light radiation of a nuclear explosion (SIYAV) and is a means of constant wearing when the enemy is threatened with the use of nuclear weapons in the summer-autumn-spring periods.

The costume set includes a hooded jacket and trousers made of mesh cotton fabric with a camouflaged yellow-green color. The fabric of the suit is impregnated with a flame retardant formulation. Military personnel wear it over their uniforms when there is a danger of contact with an open flame. In this case, the KZS suit prevents burns and ignition of clothing.

When exposed to radiation, the suit eliminates the burning and smoldering of the clothes under it and protects it from thermal damage, as well as increases the level of protection of the skin from primary burns. Gorenje

The KZS suit is impregnated with a flame retardant formulation. The hood is spacious, it is tightened with a drawstring. The sleeves are elongated. By unbuttoning the cuffs, the sleeves can be pulled over the hands and thus protect them.

In addition, such a costume is popular as a camouflage tool for hunting, airsoft and other occasions. Due to the coloring, it perfectly merges with the terrain, the anti-glare fabric of the suit is not visible either through binoculars or at close range.
