Heller 1/72 Scale SEPECAT Jaguar A Model Kit 1993 Release
Introduction:
You will be bidding on a 1/72 scale model kit of the SEPECAT Jaguar jet fighter. This kit was produced by Heller and is an example of a 1993 release. The Jaguar attack fighter was designed and produced by a joint Anglo-French consortium of Breguet and BAC. Born from what was originally a 1960s requirement for an advanced jet trainer, the aircraft’s intended role soon changed and matured into a supersonic attack jet aircraft for use in recon, conventional and nuclear attack roles. It served with the RAF until 2007 and also saw some export success, still flying today in an upgraded form with the Indian Air Force.
This Model Kit:
This model kit is unstarted and complete except two small parts, the rear nose gear door, and one of four fins for the drop tanks are missing. All of the other parts are either still on the sprues or loose in the box. The decals and instructions are in good condition, the box is in good shape but has some typical squashing and minor shelf wear here and there.
Kit Features and Details:
This kit is moulded in a tan coloured plastic reflecting the desert schemes for which decals are supplied in this boxing. Features include fine raised panel lines and engraved control surface details throughout all appropriate external areas. The cockpit is quite basic but still includes an ejection seat with rear rail mounting and a decent looking pilot figure. Other features include blanked off intake and jet exhausts, detailed and robust undercarriage which can be built raised or lowered, perforated airbrakes that can be built raised or flush and a number of other smaller details to complete the build. It also comes with plenty of underwing stores options including 4 BLU750 Cluster bombs, 4 1000lb bombs and a centreline fuel tank. Should build into a nice looking model of this interesting ground attack Cold War fighter.
