Unusual vintage German globe 'eyeball' table lamp in original red laquered metal...with an eyelid! I've never found another one like it.

I've used this little lamp as a nightlight because you can control the amount of light it emits by pulling down the movable inner lid to the level you want it. The light glows through the lid but is dimmed by it. Similar to the Dutch 'Gepe' lamps but I've never seen one with the extra light emitting control lid like this. The top of the base is chrome.

Original German sale label on the base and remains of maker's sticker inside the lamp. Please see pics to assure yourself of condition. The inner moving (up and down)  'eyelid' is in original condition, slightly faded white, one or two minor paint chips off along edge seen in photo, given it's age and period of manufacture.

I have used this lamp with a semi-mirrored LED bulb for a few years. Any questions please ask. Original switched cable in good condition.

It's 14cms high, diameter of globe top around 10 cms, diameter of base 8 cms
