LOS REGOR’S
(Both Songs Sung In Spanish)
SIDE
A: POBREZA FATAL
SIDE
B: AQUELLA TARDE
MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND
original Quatro Records very first Stereo PROMOTIONAL press released, made and
distributed in Chile in 1977 by “Quatro Ltda.” (Quatro Records), licensed from FONICA
Records (Fono Industrias De Centroamérica), Guatemala, catalog number QS-143,
with hand etched matrix numbers QS-143-A EB-C in Side A and QS-143-B EB-C in
Side B, with traditional silver/black Quatro Records labels of the period, with
big “Q” at top and solid center. It’s interesting to notice that in both side
in the deadwax it’s written the exact day of pressing, “3 6 77” (June 3rd
of 1977). Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“Pobreza Fatal” (“Fatal
Poverty” in English) was originally released in Guatemala in 1977 by legendary
Guatemalan band Los Regor’s (the name of the band takes the name of the founder
Roger Altenbach but inverted: “REGOR”), and it became a so big success in Latin
America that the same year it was released here in Chile. Song titles are
written in Spanish only, with full credits for José Barrette as songwriter of
both songs and additional information about licenses. In Side A you can see the
squared Promo stamp “QUATRO LTDA. – MUESTRA SIN VALOR” (Quatro Ltda. – Sample
Without Value), partially faded but still visible. So, here you have the chance
to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by Los Roger’s, a
record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first
time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Los
Roger’s and Latin Soul/Pop music of the ‘70’s!!!
This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is
in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, light
hairlines and soft scratches, hard to see at first sight, with a light warp, which
don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX- or EX condition
the Side A, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear, the stamp of the
radio station which originally owned this single and a number written but
mostly faded, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side, with some spindle hole wear
and the stamp of the radio station. The sound is in strong VG+ or even EX- condition
the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise
is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some
occasional light clicks here and there, more evident in the last seconds of the
song, and in VG or VG+ condition the Side B, almost same condition as Side A
but with a soft constant hiss in the first seconds of the song, which don’t cause
major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the
beginning to the end. Overall, this is still a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN
PRESS and PROMOTIONAL, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but
for sure with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and great sound
quality after about 47 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should
satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this
Chilean issue!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels
and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the
last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable
record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You
know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY
BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good
copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy
again… Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and
best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic
“VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or
“NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a
normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading
System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed
records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate
description.
MINT (M): I only use this
grade for Sealed records. NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like
new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only
some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the
sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or
poster are in like perfect condition. BAD (B): The record
is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a
collection-filler.

FEEDBACK We don’t have anything to hide and we know the
buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most
of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know
that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to
receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must
receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers
who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
