Up for bid is this boys beige cotton (possibly linen) sailor suit top with blue trim and mother of pearl buttons that has has been part of our collection for almost 40 years.  We recall purchasing it on a trip to Kentucky in the 1980's.  There are no labels for the manufacturer or size; we hung this sailor suit top along with others that will also be listed in our store on a blue peg board in our children's room. The kids are grown now and it is time to pass the clothes on to another custodian who will love and care for them as we have.  The stitching appears to be by machine and the mother of pearl buttons appear to be from the 1920's-1930's.  There is sizing or starch still in the fabric as it is slightly stiff to the the touch. There is some staining that is not offensive and toning due to age.  The top could be cleaned and brightened up if you so desire; we like it as is.  The measurements are as follows: shoulder to shoulder 10 1/2"; sleeve length 15 1/8"; shoulder to bottom 20 1/4"; side seam to side seam 14 1/2"; bottom of shirt 10 /12".  There is a button hole on the bottom back of the shirt where it would attach to a pair of trousers.  From a smoke free and pet free home.  Hanger not included.  A wonderful antique piece of children's clothing to add to your collection.  Thanks for looking.
