For sale is an ASUS SPAX board. This board is an OEM version of ASUS's SP97-XV Socket 7 ATX motherboard; originally, this one had a HP OEM BIOS. The OEM configuration removes some features present on the normal SP97-XV, which we've restored. The following upgrades have been performed:
- Optional last ISA slot repopulated
- First PCI slot added (disables onboard low-end video)
- BIOS upgraded from limited OEM to SP97-XV standard
- BIOS patched for AMD K6-2+ and K6-3+ support
- BIOS patched for large IDE hard disk support
This board is in excellent condition with original capacitors. ASUS used high quality Rubycon low ESR capacitors on this board and they've all burn-in tested fine. The only damage on this board is to the shrouds on the floppy and IDE connectors, as seen. This board was tested with an AMD K6-2+ 450 MHz processor and 64 MB of PC-133 RAM, and has been burned in with many passes of memtest86+
Do note that populating and using the first PCI slot disables the low-end integrated graphics on the chipset. If integrated graphics are desired, just leave the first PCI slot (closest to CPU) empty.
