Note that when this classic movie was first release in 1968, it was in a very limited release in theaters that showed it in Cinerama. MGM made three different one-sheets for this Cinerama release. Those one-sheets are many times more rare than the "non-Cinerama" one-sheets, which were used when the movie went into general release to theaters that did not have Cinerama equipment.

2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). Rolled, Very Fine-. Cinerama One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B, , Robert McCall Artwork.

Classical music took on a new turn in the revolutionary 2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley Kubrick's visual discussion of mankind's continuing evolution used orchestral pieces like "The Blue Danube" and "Also Sprach Zarathustra" to remarkable effect. This very rare style B Cinerama poster is the incredible work of artist Robert T. McCall, who NASA commissioned to document their space program and became one of the foremost illustrators of space related images. Not many theaters were equipped for Cinerama screenings, meaning that few of these scarce Cinerama one sheets ever saw distribution.
