Józef Antoni Poniatowski, né à Varsovie (ou Vienne, les historiens ne sont pas d'accord) le 7 mai 1763, mort à Leipzig le 19 octobre 1813, est un militaire polonais du xixe siècle. Neveu du roi de Pologne Stanisłas Auguste Poniatowski et prince du Saint-Empire romain germanique par sa naissance, il intègre l'armée autrichienne où il sert jusqu'au grade de colonel. Rejoignant la Pologne en 1789, il prend le commandement des troupes polonaises en Ukraine lors de la Guerre russo-polonaise de 1792. En 1794, il rejoint l'Insurrection de Kościuszko puis, après l'échec de cette révolte, devient gouverneur de Varsovie.

Bratanek króla Polski Stanisława Augusta Poniatowskiego i książę Świętego Cesarstwa Rzymskiego z urodzenia, wstąpił do armii austriackiej, gdzie dosłużył się stopnia pułkownika. Po powrocie do Polski w 1789 r. objął dowództwo wojsk polskich na Ukrainie podczas wojny polsko-rosyjskiej w 1792 roku. W 1794 r. przyłączył się do insurekcji kościuszkowskiej, a po jej klęsce został wojewodą warszawskim.

Józef Antoni Poniatowski, born in Warsaw (or Vienna, historians disagree) on May 7, 1763, died in Leipzig on October 19, 1813, was a nineteenth-century Polish military officer. Nephew of King Stanisłas Auguste Poniatowski of Poland and a prince of the Holy Roman Empire by birth, he joined the Austrian army, where he served until the rank of colonel. Rejoining Poland in 1789, he took command of Polish troops in Ukraine during the Russo-Polish War of 1792. In 1794, he joined the Kościuszko Uprising and, after its failure, became governor of Warsaw.
