MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original EMI Records PROMOTIONAL 33 1/3 Extended Play very first Stereo and only press released in Chile in 1984 by EMI Records, made by EMI-Odeon S.A.I.C., Argentina, and distributed by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A., catalog number PROWEPO 1, with hand etched matrix numbers PROWEPO-1-A -4 in Side A and PROWEPO-1-B -4 in Side B, with traditional white/black Promo EMI Records labels and solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to tell about this MEGARARE EP is that it was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE for PROMOTION, this EP was never sold commercially, it was only given to some radio stations in Chile in 1984 and it includes the 4 songs already informed. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses. This record was pressed in Argentina for Chilean market only and you can see the turquoise squared Promo print “VENTA PROHIBIDA – PROMOCIONAL” (Sale Forbidden – Promotional) in both sides. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE PROMOTIONAL 33 1/3 EP ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, with Spanish-written song titles, white labels and songs by Barry Gibb (Bee Gees), Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac), Elton John and Devo. Another TOP RARITY from this side of the world, almost never seen and A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Barry Gibb, Lindsey Buckingham, Elton John, Devo, Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac and Soft Rock/Pop music of the ‘80’s!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some soft scuffs, hairlines and light scratches, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear, some light age browning, the name of some radio station with the date “April 85” and the song by Barry Gibb marked, maybe because it was the song they promoted more. The sound is in strong EX+ or even NM- condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with minimal and barely audible soft crackles here and there, more evident between songs and in the last seconds of each song, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side B, almost same condition as Side A, but with some light pops in the first and last seconds of first song and some soft crackles in the las seconds of second song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a record with a very nice look, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure with nice white labels and with still a great sound quality after about 40 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean PROMOTIONAL single!!! And don’t forget this UNIQUE PROMOTIONAL EP was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE and it was NEVER SOLD COMMERCIALLY!!! WHAT A FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
