Planned to be a nine-part series of games covering all of WWII based on the B.H. Liddell Hart book of the same name.
This is a grand strategic hex and counter turn-based WWII wargame.
Hexes are 175km, a turn is one month.
Combat is by dice on CRT and based on both attack/defense ratings and type of attack/defense.
This was Part 1: Hitler Turns Against Russia, and was the intial release for the series.
Part 2: The Overrunning of the West was also published before the series was discontinued.
The remaining 7 parts were never published.
History of the Second World War: Part 2 – The Overrunning of the West (1985)
The Overrunning of the West was the second installment of The History of the Second World War series.
Part 2 covers the battles for Western Europe through 1941. Scenarios include: The Overrunning of Poland, The Overrunning of Norway, The Overrunning of the West, The Battle of Britain, The Overrunning of the Balkans and Crete, and a campaign game.
Part 2: The Overrunning of the West was a complete game in itself.
It had all the rules and components necessary to play any of the scenarios of Part 2 (except dice), but was designed to be played with The History of the Second World War - Part 1: Hitler Turns Against Russia.
Units are Fleets and Armies.
Game scale is approximately 175 miles(280 kilometers) per hex.
