Presented for auction is this Superb Antique Solid Sterling Silver Helmet Shaped Cream Jug, hallmarked for London 1914 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd.
This superb antique Georgian style solid sterling silver cream jug is helmet shaped with a wide pouring spout, beaded rim, double C scroll handle with leaf capped terminal, standing on a fabulous circular pedestal ribbed base and is unpersonalised, superb quality item/craftsmanship. It is hallmarked with the makers mark G&S Co Ltd, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver, the London assay office Leopards head and the date letter T for 1914, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.
Measuring 4 1/4" high to the top of the handle by 4 3/4" handle to spout by 2 1/2" at its widest approx. it is in excellent used condition with no dents, dings, splits or repairs, just usual wear consistent with age/use and weighs 153.2grams or 4.92 troy ounces by my electronic scales.
