I acquired this bike as a non-runner which had undergone a partial restoration at some point in the past. This had included a new seat cover and some repainting. It had dropped off the DVLA database and came with no paperwork. I've done some more work and got the bike to the stage where its running, riding and stopping, as well as registered with DVLA. It does have both a registration plate (detached for pictures) and a V5 in my name. Its registered as "historic" and qualifies for MOT and ULEZ exemption as well as free road tax. Pics taken May 2024  I've never insured the bike for the road so its had very limited use (really just a riding test) since I have owned it. Mileage is 9,800 (pics) and year of manufacture is 1960.

When I got the bike the front wheel and forks were jammed (mostly because the wheel had been fitted the wrong way round and the front tyre had a large bulge). I have fitted a new front tyre, and reassembled the forks fitting new lower bushes in the process. Most cables except the clutch have been renewed (ie speedo, front brake and throttle).
None of the electrics worked  when I got it, but these are now functional after fitting new light switches, horn, battery and rectifier. There was no spark so I have fitted a new plug and ignition coil. For some bizarre reason these bikes had no ignition switch and no apparent means to stop the motor short of stalling. I have fitted a kill button and also had to fit a new kickstart spring.

The bike is listed as a project because although its working, it hasn't been thoroughly tested. I've listed it at a price that takes these considerations into account, I've spent more than this over the last 2 years, but these projects are largely an end in themselves so I don't expect to make a profit out of them. It will need checking over, clutch and carb adjustment. I'm also aware that the brakes will need attention (certainly new shoes in the front). A previous owner has fitted a bespoke primary chain tensioner although the bike did not originally have one. This seems to work but it does make the transmission noisy and the new owner may want to remove it. This is a job I would do if keeping the bike and I will supply a new transmission cover to replace that modified to accept the tensioner. The bike will also come with a pair of leg-shields and a rear carrier although both will need a bit of fettling as neither has a fitting kit. I will also include some spare gaskets and reproductions of both the spare parts and owners operation manuals.

Note that this bike is now 64 years old, and at that age none of us come with a guarantee! Consequently no guarantee is offered or implied and for that reason viewing is both invited and recommended.  This is as full a description as I can recall- please check my feedback  to gauge its likely veracity, I'm happy to answer any questions.
