On
display is the book “Bass Fishing” from the Sports Afield library and edited by
Ted Kesting. Copyright 1962. 192 pages. Published by Thomas Nelson & Sons of
New York. Hardback in good condition with good binding. The inside pages having
no rips, tears or stains and have some brown fading on the page edges. On page 182 and 183 there is some brown fading that goes about halfway down the pages as can be seen in the pictures. The dust
jacket has very little on the front and back covers. Ted Kesting in 1945 was
named the editor of Sports Afield magazine and has gathered a lore of years of
outdoor experience to make this book a comprehensive guide to all aspects of
the sport. Kesting selected stories and articles which enumerate the many types
of bass then describes the wide variety of lures to catch them. The book includes
authoritative presentations of the techniques used to snag the wily bass:
spin-fishing, casting, bass bugging, and the use of the fly rod. It also
discusses live bait with recommendations for its most effective use. There is
also information on boats and easy to follow recipes to turn the fisherman into
a gourmet chef without fear of failure. Overall, every enthusiast from novice
