25, 1992 ( 6/25/1992 ) !! Wow ... a Very-Very-Special ! Dead Pass here indeed - as
this was one of the 1983 ' Throwback ' Logo ! Passes used by Grateful Dead Productions,
Inc. in 1993 ! ... 10-Years Later !! Simply one of the all-time plainest - simplest &
Grate-est !! Grateful Dead Art Design Images of All-Time ! - " Good Ol' Grateful
Dead " - Red, White & Blue with the Stars in tow !
Awesome ... Originally designed in the 1970's - this truly became one of
the Quintessential ! straight-to-the-point Logos used by the Band ... all the way
through the end ! In fact, if my memory serves me correctly ?
( 50/50 ... right ? Ha ! ) - well ... I'm pretty certain that Jerry Garcia
even had one of these ' circular ' Good Ol' Grateful Dead stickers on the side of
his equipment rack cabinet ... right On-Stage !!? Applied by a Road Crew
Member - possibly ? Quite likely ... and pretty awesome - indeed. So ... this Logo was actually used just about 10-Years
before this 6/25/92 Soldier Field - Chicago Show - on the 1983 Summer
Tour ! And, these were definitely the ' earlier-days ' were Backstage Passes weren't
' quite ' as Creative & Different each & every Show - as they eventually
became ... at least in the Good Ol' World of the Grateful Dead !!! This
Pass was used - in a ' Horizontal ' format for almost every Show on that '83 Summer
East Coast / Midwest Tour ! Right ! off the top of my Dead-Head ... both
6/20/83 & 6/21/83 Merriweather Post Pavilion come quickly to my mind ! So - Way-Cool ! that this Fantastic ! G.D. Logo was used here on the 1992 Summer
Tour !! - and for Chicago !!! A Massive ' Stadium Show ' - at Soldier's
Field !!! I believe this ' exact ' design was only used one other time - for
Giants Stadium - on 6/6/93 ! And, what makes this Pass Ultra-Special! - has
a little less to do with the way-cool Pass design, and a lot more to do with
the Date! on this Pass... 6/25/92 ! And, this Fans ... is indeed one
seriously Beautiful-Day ! in Rock 'n Roll History !! - where the Good Ol'
Grateful Dead ! teamed-up with the One & Only - and Legendary ! James Cotton
!!! He came out with them for ' Good Morning Little Schoolgirl ' ! -
' Lovelight ' !! - and for ' Gloria ' !!! ... Wow !!!!! I mean let me tell
you - if you weren't there yourself ... I've seen some fine-things ' Rock &
Roll !! ' in my Lifetime ! - and for me personally ... this was some of the Finest ! G.D.
Special-Guest Magic !! that I have ever-seen Live ! These guys just Smoked !!!
it ... and you could tell that Garcia was Completely-Thrilled ! to have another Music-Legend ! standing right next to Him ! on stage !! Wow ... I mean they
were just Trading ! licks - rifts - harmonies ... and it was Absolutely-Stellar ! to watch & hear !! And !!! ... before I forget too - even Steve Miller ! was in on the Action ! too ... The
Joker ! / " Midnight-Toker " ! - as he joined them for ' Iko Iko ' ! - ' Schoolgirl ' !! - ' Watchtower ' !!! - ' Lovelight ' !!!! - and for ' Gloria ' !!!!! This was some ' Serious ' Musicianship - of
Musicians ! playing for themselves - and flat-out Delivering ! the Live goods ...
right smack-dab in Soldier Field Stadium !!!!! In fact, you can even
go and check-out some of this ' Live-Action ' on You Tube ! When I saw it ... it
was every-bit as good as I had remembered. Dang, my fellow Dead Fans ... as this
was certainly one-fine-day - for both Rock 'n Roll !!! -- and Rock 'n Roll History
!!!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
