Rick Griffin Rock Art Fans !!!  As offered here is the Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) - ' Complete ! ' 2-Show Set !! - for the September 20 & 21, 1982 ( 9/20/82 & 9/21/82 ) Shows at Madison Square Garden !! in New York City !!!  And as you can well see from the photos provided ... these G.D. Beauties ! are all Rick Griffin !!!  The ' One & Only ! ' Rick Griffin, that is - as there is no other Fillmore Poster Artist just quite-like Him !  Well, if you Toured in '82, the '80's or maybe ? even the '90's, then you will be well aware that this Fantastic ! " U.S.A. Uncle Sam Smokin' Skeleton Winged-Skull ! " Griffin Art Design was definitely " The ! " Official GDP T-Shirt to have, from this Amazing ! '82 Touring-Year for the Grateful Dead !!  I myself always think of two main things when it comes to '82 Live Dead -- firstly, Garcia's tone & fret board attack !  As this was a totally transitional period, that really started in '81 where Jerry got both quicker ! & ' Heavier !! '.  I showed one of my Rock & Roll Friends the 3/28/81 video not too long ago ( with The Who ! ), and my Buddy's comment was a True-Classic on that day ... " Wow man, Jerry's almost playing-Metal ?!? "  You-betcha he was !  Totally true in so many ways, as during certain jam-points & ascensions - this was a " Collective " beefed-up Grateful Dead Live - with some Serious-Attack !  And Secondly ... these were also the early days of the true-emergence of the '80's-esque Bobby Weir that many fans love & live for !  Much vocal improv, that some Fans Cherished ! - and other Fans, well ... ( Hah ! ).  But the point is, this was the Very-First Tour ! that both " Touch Of Grey " & " Throwing Stones " were played ' Live ' !!  And in classic G.D. " We'll get around to it ... " - Fashion ! ... as neither were even featured on an Album until the 1987 Studio Masterpiece - ' Touch of Grey ' !  And frankly, we know what that one did for the Band & The-Scene ! - both good and bad things -- but let's be honest, way ! more ' good ' than bad.  And ... as far as Musically ??  I mean These ! 9/20/82 & 9/21/82 - N.Y.C. / M.S.G. Show(s!) were flat-out & straight-up ' Heaters ! ' - ' Smokers !! ' - and just ... RED-HOT !!!  And, that itself is likely one of the ( obvious ) reasons that These-Shows ! were really a few of the most widely-circulated Shows from this '82 Fall Tour ! ... around the taper & trading circles, and such.  As in fact, I've run into these Shows ( 9/20/82 & 9/21/82 ) constantly in both ! the analog & digital eras !!  So, if you have yet to hear These-Shows ?!! - just take one listen through, and you'll know why.  Whoa !!?!!  So yeah, you bet there was a Shakedown !! Show-Opener for this NYC / MSG 2-Show stand - at The Garden !! on the 9/20/82 night ... and that smacked right into some blazin' Garcia & Weir lead-slide trades in Minglewood !  Garcia also uncorks some excellent watery-space action on the Phase-100 in Candyman ! ... just right after !!  Then, of course the Throwin' got laid down - being '82 Fall in New York ! - Ha !!  But, this version just gets plastered into a Day Job Closer !  A tune that I just Love ! ... but, unfortunately it seems that almost nobody-else does ?!?  Oh well ...  Then, Set II is pretty-much nothing ! short of G.D. ' Legend ! ' -- and, it's so incredibly worthy ... that I'm just going to go ahead and  type it here - so that you-too ! can get just as excited as me, about this MSG NYC '82 throw-down ... you know, like " In Honor Of ... " >>>  Scarlet > Fire - Women Are Smarter - Terrapin > Drums > Space > Spanish Jam ! > Truckin' > Other One > Stella Blue > Sugar Magnolia !!!  And then ... for ' Night #2 !
