A completely original, collectible mechanical wristwatch by Raketa, model "Copernicus" / "Kopernik", designed in the 1980s to honor the famous Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The watch is supported by the extremely robust 2609HP (2609NP) movement. The designers intended the watch's angular envelope to resemble a folded telescope. Recognized throughout the watchmaking world, the famous hands correspond to the planets: the minute hand is the Earth, the hour hand is Jupiter. Why is this? If the Earth makes a full rotation around the sun in one year, Jupiter does the same in 12 years. The hands of a watch work in the same way. The "Copernicus" watch is therefore a heliocentric system in miniature.

The watch is after a watchmaker service, as are the other watches we offer. On the mechanical side, it functions flawlessly. The envelope of the watch bears traces of use, but they do not affect the aesthetics of the item. It is sold complete with a leather strap.

It should be noted that most of the "Copernicus" watches offered for sale are contemporary replicas or refurbished products using currently manufactured Chinese parts: crowns, cases, as well as other compatible mechanisms. The piece we offer is completely original, as confirmed by the details shown in the photographs.
