I also recently sold one of the rare Aztec Gold Coins from the film, but only had a couple to part with. I have more of these than I did of the Aztec Gold Curse coins, as I actually helped facilitate getting these off the set before it was demolished and getting them to select Walmarts for a special promotion in coordination with the release date of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL when it was originally released on DVD.
More information:
- 2 very rare prop/set dressing coins from the making of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL
- These coins were actually considered set dressing, as they were scattered throughout the entire cave set (on the Disney Studios Stage 2 — also known as the Julie Andrews Stage)
- Coins are lightweight. I believe they are made of aluminum.
- Also included, ONE even more rare, heavier ISLA DE MUERTA prop coin, also from THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL
- Condition is virtually the same as when they were acquired from production 20 years ago (Any minor dirt or wear remaining on the props were either purposeful patina, or from use and handling on the set)
- Comes with a LOA (Letter of Authenticity) on internal PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL STATIONARY
- Again, these are NOT replicas — they are actual props/set dressing from the 2003 production of the film
- The final picture (which I found online) is reference of how the two set dressing coins were also given out during a special very limited time promotion at select Walmart locations during the original DVD release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL. That imprinted pouch is NOT included (I actually never had one of the pouches, as I got these BEFORE they were shipped to Walmart for the promotion).
Please ask questions BEFORE bidding. Your chance to own a small piece(s) of movie history. Good luck!
