On offer for you is this stunning Georgian dress ring modelled in solid 9ct rose gold.

It's most obvious and striking feature is the large blue enamel face of the ring, which is guilloche enamel work. Upon close inspection, the enamelling has a beautiful depth of colour, with sun rayed beams expanding outwards from the central pearl daisy. The enamel is in impressive condition for its age, with no chips/cracks or restoration visible. It is rare to find such examples as this ring rarely making it through to today's age intact!

Within the sea of blue is a flower comprised of creamy seed pearls, each individually set with classically Georgian pinched borders. A garnet that could almost pass as a ruby with it's plumb undertones makes up the centre of this flower. Bordering the enamel work is a halo of more seed pearls, all smaller than the centre display and they are found in an array of colours from every shade of grey through to cream.

Often rings of this style were dedicated as mourning jewellery, however the underside of this ring remains clean from inscription and perfectly curved to hug comfortably to your finger when worn. Wide shoulders taper away to a fine ring shank. The ring has just enough wear and tiny signs of age which leads me to believe this is an original piece and not a reproduction.

———CONDITION REPORT———

Excellent used antique condition.

All seed pearls look to be original and not replacements. Enamel work is breath taking - free from chips, cracks or repair work. Some minor age related wear to some of the pearls and garnet facets. Some areas of patina to the gold. The ring has undergone a resize, and there is patina to the solder work there - this could be removed and hidden by a professional re-size job if you need to have the ring sized. Any "chipped" edges you see to the enamel is just the light reflecting on the shiny surface.
