Honestly what a stunning MAXI coat – it could be worn with anything, casual wear to more formal
This is just the most perfect top end of vintage coat you will ever see.
There is a deep sweeping neckline of pure luxury velvet on the collar. It dips quite low at the front then gently crosses over at the waist. It has two pockets at the front, the waist is fitted so beautifully to just mold and sculpt your frame. Which then leads into the flaring out of the skirt in true riding style. Pure luxury and elegance and so soft to the touch.
The shape of the back of the coat is just as important and special as the front. The waist is nipped in to truly flatter any figure. Beautiful button details from back waist to hem (they do not undo and are detailing only).
The tailoring has to been seen to be believed, drop shoulders give a smooth finish, cinched waist from the 4 button panel which also has buttons inside to perfect the fit.
The colour is SO hard to describe, due to the softness of the wool / cashmere blend in some lights it is almost black but is really a lovely deep dark grey with a hint of blue. The velvet panels I would describe as black.
This is coat is in fabulous condition and came direct from a fashion showroom where my mum worked in the 1980's and who stocked Mansfield and other high end clothing. It was her pride and joy but she only ever wore it twice for family weddings... she was "keeping it for best". This item is vintage, and preloved, therefore it has been gently owned but is in super condition and deserves to be worn with pride! Comes with Mansfield coat hanger.
Sizing
UK size 12 in women's dresses is US size 10 and Euro 38. This has a bust of 92-95 cm (36-37.5 inches), a waist of 73-77 cm (28-30 inches), and a hips size of 98-101 cm (38-40 inches), but as it flares from the waist it could fit slightly wider.
Back of neck to waist is 18" - 46cm
Waist to hem is 31" - 79cm
