BRENDA LEE

With Chorus And Instrumental Accompaniment

SIDE A:     CUALQUIERA MENOS YO

                  (Anybody But Me)

SIDE B:     TONTO N° 1

                  (Fool #1)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original DECCA Records very first High Fidelity Mono press released by DECCA records, made and distributed in Chile in 1961 by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile, not credited), licensed from DECCA Records Inc., USA, catalog number DIM 11037, with machine etched matrix numbers RD111046 1SN (“1SN” inverted) in Side A and RD111045 1SN (“1SN” inverted) in Side B, with traditional green/silver DECCA Records labels of the period, with big “DECCA” at top and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

“Fool #1” was originally released in USA in September 1961, with “Anybody But Me” as Side B, and because of the popularity of Brenda Lee in Chile those years we didn’t have to wait much to see this single in Chile, because late 1961 it was also released in Chile. But if you know this single, then you could have already noticed that here in Chile “Anybody But Me” is the Side A and “Fool #1” is the Side B. As far as I know this single with these songs inverted was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE. And song “Fool #1” was translated as “Tonto N° 1”, when it could easily to have been translated as “Tonto #1”. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, original US matrix numbers in each side and play time of each song, with additional information about tax law applicable in Chile and cash price printed in Side A, “E° 1,26”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by Brenda Lee, with Spanish-written song titles and ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE with inverted sides, a record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Brenda Lee, Ronnie Self and classic Pop/Rock ’n’ Roll music of early ‘60’s!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only soft scuffs and very light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, micro tears and the name of some past owner written in Side A, on word “Decca”, but really hard to see at first sight because it has almost faded totally. The sound is in strong EX- or even EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with minimal occasional and mostly barely audible soft crackles and light clicks here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE and UNIQUE CHILEAN PRESS, with GREEN DECCA RECORDS LABELS and Spanish-written song titles, ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE with INVERTED SIDES, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds and audiophiles, but for sure with a really nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 62 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this Chilean single!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
