YAMAHA SG-1000 '82 Red Sunburst

Yamaha's original model "SG" series that appeared in the 1960s. It started in the GS period and went through several large-scale model changes, leading to the double cutaway shape from the SG-30/35 around 1973. The following year, in 1974, the SG-175 completed the traditional SG shape, which continues to this day, and has produced many variations.

This time, the popular "SG-1000" is in stock, and it is a veteran model with a feeling of use.

【body】
Overall weight approximately 4.3kg. Traditional maple top/mahogany back body material. Maintenance has progressed in various parts, and although there is a lot of damage, it is in usable condition. In addition to scratches, dents, and dullness of the metal parts, you can also see the cloudy paint that is common on Yamahas from this period. The strap pin has been replaced with a lock type, but there are no receiving parts. One screw on the back panel is missing.

【neck】
Maple/mahogany 3-piece neck with ebony fingerboard. There is a dent the size of a grain of rice near the 6th fret on the back of the neck, and it feels a little stuck. The nut has been replaced at our store, and the frets have been adjusted, so the playability is good. The nut width is approximately 42.8mm, and the neck is characterized by a smart neck shape with a soft V feel.

[Electrical system]
The controls are the orthodox type: [2 volume/2 tone/3way pickup selector]. The tone pot is equipped with Yamaha's traditional "bi-sound system". The original semi-open humbucker has a thick and powerful tone, and when combined with the bi-sound system mentioned above, it can also output a sharp single-coil sound. The pickup selector switch (including tip), output jack, front tone POT and capacitor have been replaced.
