The second printing in the first year. All previous copies from the first printing were recalled after Siegfried Sassoon objected to the inclusion of a poem by him and paragraphs referring to Grave's stay at Sassoon's Mother's home. The areas and pages of removal now blank apart from astericks.
Several press cuttings included as they were in the book, the earliest being 1959.
