First Edition

Softcover, pulp magazine digest

I have a very large collection of books spanning many topics.  A massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, as well as fine press, signed limited editions, modern firsts, radical movement and conceptual art items.  I encourage you to browse my store and categories for a wide range of unique, quality offerings.

Condition: This vintage pulp is in solid GOOD+ condition. The binding is sound and firm. The front cover shows light edge rubbing, and fold shadows, but NO creasing, tearing or chipping. The cover art is still full of colorful and gorgeous. Internally, no markings no cutouts, and only FAINT toning to the page edges, not entire page. A nice copy of an important issue, preserved in an acid-free archival bag.

About: This issue carries the first sci-fi story by Roger Zelazny to be published.

Works by:
Fantastic saw a tenure of approximately 28 years, and was published as by Ziff-Davis as a Fantasy companion to Amazing Stories.  Later, it moved from Fantasy to Science-Fiction, and helped launch the careers of such greats as Roger Zelazny, and Ursula K LeGuin.

Editor Cele Goldsmith. Great color cover art by Vernon Kramer and internal black & white drawings by Summers. This vintage pulp magazine carries the DEBUT short-story Horseman! by Roger Zelazny, which actually saw TWO debut stories, same month different pulps. Zelazny of course went on to a lifelong career in writing, and was influential to such other greats as Samuel R Delany, Algis Budrys, Neil Gaiman and others.

I will happily answer any further questions.

Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases.  To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers.  Best not to waste our time.  With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer.  If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings.  I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases.

I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
