According to the Dumbarton Oaks research institute at Harvard, "Jean Picart Le Doux (Charles Marcel Jean Picart Le Doux) (1902–1982) was a French artist and tapestry designer who resided mostly in Paris. Having no specialized professional training, he began his career as a bookbinder and publisher before turning to advertising and the graphic arts around 1935."
