Victorian 1897 ebony and hallmarked solid silver walking stick or cane with a fabulous Lapis Lazuli sphere pommel.
The colour and pattern in the pommel is exceptional as you can see in the pictures.
The shaft is well sized in width and length so will support a good weight.
The silver was assayed in Birmingham as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1897 and makers mark for Jonathan Howell & Co Ltd.
Engraved silver collar with a blank cartouche to the front that the pommel sits into. 
It measures 86 cm 34 inches in length, the pommel is 4.3 cm 1 11/16 inches wide.
The ferrule is made of brass and steel.
Good weight ebony shaft that will offer good support.
It's in excellent condition with only minor signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age.
Some surface marks to the silver as shown but no holes or splits.
The shaft is excellent with no breaks or repairs.
