This is an antique surgical tool from the 1800s, specifically a pocket turtle handle lancet, manufactured by Evans in London. It comes with its original case and is considered a rare find for collectors of antique medical equipment. The case is either made from old very thin leather or perhaps paper mache. No chips of deep scratches in the shell and the blade is very nice other than the old corrosion marks, The touchmark on this item is not as full as I would like but fortunately I was able to find a picture of another by the same maker and have included it. It is not part of the auction. The mark on the one I have is missing most of the touchmark but the makers name, the street and London are mostly there. A nice example of a pocket lancet I think. No Reserve

Please look closely at the pics and ask questions if you have them. I respond promptly and do my best to answer them.
