Two Hundredth 200th Anniversary Of The Demerara Revolt Coin

This G$200 coin struck in Verbronze is 39mm in diameter, round with serrated edge. This coin was minted to commemorate The Demerara Revolt of 1823, in which over 10,000 enslaved persons participated, and this was the largest uprising against Slavery in Guyana.

Bank of Guyana released 1,000 uncirculated coins in early 2024. Coin is protected in a clear plastic capsule and comes in a small box with a note describing the historic significance of the coin.
