Presented for auction is this superb Antique Wedgwood Cobalt Blue Jasperware Solid Silver Rimmed Pair of Acanthus Leaf Spill Vases, Hallmarked for Birmingham 1924.
Produced by Wedgwood this superb pair of antique spill vases are finished in cobalt blue jasperware with applied acanthus leaf and floral garland white cameos and are finished with solid sterling silver rims, superb quality items/craftsmanship. The silver rims are hallmarked with the Makers mark D&H, the Birmingham assay office Anchor, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver and the Date letter Z for 1924 and they are also impressed marked on the bases in capitals WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND along with other impressed marks, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.
Measuring 5 3/4" high x 2 1/2" across the bases approx. they are in excellent used condition with no chips, cracks or restoration to either vase, there is a small manufacturing blemish just below the silver rim on one vase (see photo 12) and some denting to the silver rim on the other vase (see photos 10 & 11) and they would benefit from a gentle light clean, nothing serious at all and consistent with their antique age and use over the years.
