CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL

“EL SONIDO PODEROSO DE LOS ‘CREEDENCE’”

(The Powerful Sound Of The ‘Creedence’)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Fantasy Records very first STEREO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1976 by DISCOS BANGLAD (Banglad Records), catalog number LP FPM-154, with hand etched matrix numbers LP-FPM-154-A EB-C in Side A and LP-FPM-154-A EB-C in Side B, with yellow/black Banglad Records labels. It’s very interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the exact day of pressing, “29-12-75” (December 29th of 1975) and the year of release in Chile is 1976, so it means they worked until the last day of 1975 to press the records because they knew they couldn’t release it in 1975!!! This is the first case I see of a record with a date of pressing of a different year informed in labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“EL SONIDO PODEROSO DE LOS ‘CREEDENCE’”, was originally released in 1976 and it’s a compilation album released exclusively for Chilean market with an UNIQUE COVER!!! In this case and already unusual for the period, the cover is made of a single piece of cardboard folded in de middle, so 3 sides are open and kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps the original artwork of the “Green River” album (!!!) with the album title written in Spanish at top and a red circle at bottom left corner informing “Con Un Poster De Regalo” (With A Poster As Gift). Back cover is black and white with album title in Spanish only, with Banglad Records logo at top right corner, a photo of the band with the names and instruments of them and the tracklist written only in Spanish, except for “Pagan Baby” and “The Night Time Is the Right Time”. In labels it’s the same information as back cover with full credits for songwriters. So, here you have a great chance to get this UNIQUE COMPILATION ALBUM with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE TRACKLIST!!!

The tracklist in this RARE compilation with the “Green River” album front artwork is:

Side A:

  1. Walk On The Water

  2. Sailor’s Lament

  3. My Baby Left Me

  4. Pagan Baby

  5. Effigy

Side B:

  1. Chameleon

  2. Hello Mary Lou

  3. Get Down Woman

  4. The Working Man

  5. The Night Time Is The Right Time

The cover was already described and it’s in VG- or VG condition the front cover, clean and clear, no rips, no ring marks, some wear in the edges and corners, but no creases, a tear at bottom left corner with residues of a tape (sure the tear was caused when someone removed that tape) and writings at top right corner (“14” inside a circle) and close to the mouth edge, and in EX- or EX condition the back cover, clean and clean, no writings, no marks of any kind, some light age browning and a little tear at top. The record is in strong VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with loads of scuffs and hairlines and light scratches, which of course don’t affect play. Labels are in NM or NM+ condition the Side A, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear and in VG+ or EX- condition the Side B, clean and clear, but with the name of some past owner and a brown mark. The sound is the best part because it’s really great, it’s in VG or VG+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), but some light crackles, more evident in the silent parts (it’s very interesting to say that in my turntable the record doesn’t stop to run, just like it had a run out groove in the deadwax), and in great VG+ or EX- condition the Side B, loud, clear and clean, with light occasional crackles, which of course don’t distract at all from the great and powerful sound of this record. Overall, a great record with a still nice look and great sound quality after about 48 years, which won't disappoint anyone. A MUST TO HAVE for all Creedence Clearwater Revival collectors!!! But the original poster is missed. Anyway, remember the UNIQUE COVER and the UNIQUE TRACKLIST!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
