This antique Tibetan pouch is a rare find for collectors of Asian antiques. Made from silver metal, it features a variety of Carnelian, Agate and Jasper gemstones. The pouch is 5.5” long including the fringe, 3.75” wide and about 1.5” deep. The 50” long strap is made from black cotton velvet and feature 6 sections of applied silver embellishments, including 4 more gemstones. The pouch is embellished on both sides as well as the hinged top. There are 7 gemstone bead dangles on the bottom. Based upon my research, I believe this pouch to have been used as a flint or tinder pouch. Its origin can be traced back to Tibet, where it was likely used by nomads for survival. There is an antiques patina and I have not tried to clean or polish the metal.

The pouch is a stunning example of traditional Tibetan craftsmanship and would make a great addition to any antique collection. Its intricate details and unique history make it a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
