1970's SAFEWAY Grocery In Store
This listing is for a lot of two original,
vintage 1970's, Safeway grocery in-store 7" x 11" card stock lithograph
display signs used for marketing select items.
The first sign with the green background is marked: ©Copyright
1978. Safeway Stores, Incorporated. The other sign has no maker's mark.
Provenance: These marketing signs were
issued to my mother and she occasionally would assist the store manager in
promoting items for sale. The seller is unaware, however, of exactly how the
signs were used and for what items in the store. She worked as a Safeway
checker from 1968-1990.
Overall, the two thick card stock signs
are in excellent/like new condition. There are no noted damages to the
graphics. The second sign, however, shows a light brownish discoloration on
it’s upper right side of the white border. The reverse sides are clean, with a
white background with no markings, stains, discoloration or other damages. These
are two very well preserved promotional Safeway in-store signs that would be a
wonderful addition to a collection.

demonstrate the vibrant florescent orange color of the sign.
