ROMAN GLASS BEADS ON STRING WITH APPLIED GRANULAR DETAILS

 2ND-3RD CENTURY AD.

2nd-3rd century AD. A Roman group of 26 restrung string of Roman glass beads made

from section of bangles, many with applied colourful granules and other detail,

1 striped bead separated by amber-coloured glass miniature globular beads.

From a South West London collection; formed in 1980

The Roman recycled bangles that were broken into beads for necklaces and

 many excavated examples exist.

Signs of age and usage.

Measures  41 cm long (beads) most beads around 20mm,

small ones around 10mm approx

These types of bead necklaces was popular and worn throughout the Ancient World, similar recycled beads can be found on

 ancient necklaces.

It is 1st to 3rd century approx but could be a little later.

This is a really nice example. It would be a nice addition to any bead collection and

a must have for any ancient bead/pendant collector.

DON'T MISS IT.

From my extensive collection which I will be listing on ebay.  Very harder to find example for Ancient bead collector, or jewellery maker.
