The Legendary ! Late-'80's Grateful Dead stand at the ' Meadowlands ' in New Jersey !! - on "April Fools Day 1988 " !!!  Much-better known to Dead Fans now ( So-Thankfully ! ) as ... April Fools '88 !!!  A Flat-Out Burner ! of a Dead Show !! ... '88 Spring Tour ! - Jersey !!!

Grateful Dead Fans !!! ... '80's Dead ! Fans !! ... and too - Fans of the G.D. " Road Trips ! " Audio release Series !!!  As offered here-indeed is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the April 1st, 1988 ( 4/1/88 ) April Fools Day 1988 !!! Show at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey !!  This Very-Rare " April Fools Day ! " Backstage Pass is from the Huge !!! 3-Night Stand at the Meadowlands on the '88 Spring Tour ! ... 3/30/88 - 3/31/88 - 88/1/4 --- Ha !  Gotcha ... so, as they say " April Fools " !!!  With yes, the Final Show of this run falling right dead smack on 4/1/88 !  There, now I've got it right ...  Well, one thing is Definitely ! for certain - and that, is that the Band ! got it right on this whole entire run ... Every-Single-Night !!!  I mean who out there said that 1988 ain't got no heart ??!  My recommendation is to acquire and listen to all-three ! of these Shows !!  This was the Final ( 3rd ) night of this Musically-Powerful & Tight ! Meadowlands Spring Tour run - arguably the best full ' Concert-Stand ' run by the Band in the entire Calendar Year of 1988 !  It should also be noted that this was the very-end ( R.I.P. !!? ) of the " Pre-Midi " ( multi-digital interface era ), as after this point - the Dead's sound forever changed from a technical set-up & audible perspective.  In other words ... these were the final days of the pure ( & raw ! ) Rock 'n Roll sound that so well-signified " The Early-80's ! ".  So basically ... All Ye' Lovers of 1980's Dead ?!!  Well, Fall-in " Right Here ! - Right-Now !! " for this one ... just like Bobby Weir's buddy Sammar Hagar ! used to once-say !! ... Hah !!!  For some Deadheads, this was the end of the " True-Live ! " Grateful-Dead-Sound !! -- the very-final days of U.S. Tours in the Pre-MIDI ( multi-digital-interphase ) Era.  In other words, back then - people in every seat would hear the pure analog sound delivered right through the cones in the Amps !, just like the band would hear through the monitors.  Basic / standard string instrument effects - ( plus distortion, overdrive, phase shifter, analog delay, octave divider, etc. ), pure Rock n' Roll equipment without any synthetic instrument sounds like flute, clarinet, trumpet, etc. ( especially Jerry & Bob - during Space ! ).  Personally, I thought Jerry Garcia found his true home & arguably his finest-tone(s) ! when he loaded up on the hearty Boss ( Roland ) Equipment in the 80's ( straight OD-1 - OC-2 - HM-2 etc. ), and this 1988 Spring Tour marks the very end of that Original / Vintage ( whole-hearted ! ) 1980's pre-MIDI sound.  However, on a lighter & much more serious note ( April Fools !! ) ... this run & this Show here ! is Indeed !!! Bobby Weir in his finest Powerhouse ! " '80's Prime ", as he Definitely ! swoops-in to tries to break the finish-line tape & Steal the Show ! on this April Fools '88 night !  Whoa !!!  To put it bluntly, this one is one for all of the " Ace-Lovers ! " out there !!!  Seriously ... but, not-just ! ... as the whole darn Grateful Dead is " Bringin' It " !!!  Believe It Or Not !  Whoa !!!!!  My advice ( as this is indeed the ' ballpark ' that my Deadhead ears like to play in ) ... is to get this 4/1/88 Show, and both 3/30/88 & 3/31/88 too - as it is quite likely that you'll absolutely love these, and you'll even get a few good-laughs too ! ... ( Many !!! ).  One thing is true ... they sure don't make Bands ! like This !! anymore !!!  The Good Ol' ((( Late-'80's !!! ))) Grateful Dead !!!!!  This is the stuff that I live-for people.  Why not take some chances, and Bring the Heat ! in Jersey ... because as you'll see ( & hopefully Hear ! ) - if you have yet-to ... the Payoffs can just be Huge !  In fact ... this 4/1/88 Show, in addition to live-action from the 3/31/88 Show were most-recently digitally remastered & pro-released ( in 2011 ) for the Grateful Dead Road Trips Series - Vol. 4 No. 2 !!!  And though I'm usually always ! drawn-in to aesthetically pleasing packaging, and especially ... when it comes to the Grateful Dead !  Well, the Cover on that one is just Awesome ! - because being April Fools '88 & all ... it is indeed " Grateful Jester ! " time !!!  Enjoy this Beauty ! of a Grateful Dead April Fools '88 Treasure ... the ' Official ' G.D. Backstage Pass !!!!! Which, in the case of this one ... means So !!! much.  Awesome . . . . .
