"Some assembly required" -  A medical student sets out to recreate his decapitated fiancée by building her a new body made of Manhattan street prostitutes. A medical school dropout loses his fiancée in a tragic lawnmower incident, and decides to bring her back. Unfortunately, he was only able to save her head, so he goes to the red light district in the city and lures prostitutes into a hotel room so he can get parts for his girlfriend. Steefel, Judy Grafe, Helmar Augustus Cooper, Joanne Ritchie, John "Zacherle", Louise Lasser, Shirley Stoler.  BEHIND THE SCENES TRIVIA : Writer/director Frank Henenlotter improvised the basic story at a pitch meeting. After getting the okay to make the picture, he then wrote the script for the movie. This was Henenlotter's first SAG film meaning he was using actors who were members of the guild, but he ran into some trouble as the girls the guild was sending were not inclined to do nudity. "Or, you didn't want them to do nudity," he adds. So he went to Billy's Topless Bar looking for girls instead, and a short while later he had several strippers signed on, each of them hired for specific degrees of nudity. SAG ended up making each of them members. Bill Murray is a big fan of this movie, and publicly endorsed it around the time of its release. John Zacherle (Zacherly), host of Chiller and Shock Theater on different TV stations, cameos as the TV weatherman with weather "for mad scientists". Zacherle was known on TV as a horror host. He initially went by Roland(ro-LAND), but later went by Zacherly.
